Situated in the children’s outpatients department of Glasgow’s newest hospital, the brief here was simply to create an ‘interactive storybook.’
Using infrared and a motion-tracking camera system, users are cropped from live video footage then inserted into an animated and interactive world composed of thousands of multi-layered foreground and background parallax png image sequences and thousands of specially prepared sound effects.
They are transported through 6 fun, animated environments, or story chapters, where they meet all manner of interesting items and creatures.
Interaction is through motion sensing of hands and feet – enabling users to for example pop a balloon although standing some 3 metres away from the screen.
This interactive software is available for purchase as is or it can also be customised. It is ideal for use in child-focused visitor spaces. Please contact enquiries@boundary.io for more information
